Welcome to the University of Arizona Research Integrity Program

In accordance with University Policy RES-300 "Responding to Allegations of Research Misconduct" the Research Integrity Officer (RIO) receives and oversees the confidential process of assessing and investigating allegations of misconduct concerning research conducted at, for, or on behalf of the University of Arizona. The institution's procedures for responding to allegations of Research Misconduct are available here. 

Research Misconduct: means Fabrication, Falsification, or Plagiarism in proposing, performing, or reviewing scholarly, Research, or creative endeavors, or in reporting Research results or the results of creative endeavors. Research Misconduct does not include honest error or differences in interpretation or judgments in evaluating Research methods or results or differences of opinion.

Office of Research Integrity (ORI)

The Office of Research Integrity (ORI) oversees and directs Public Health Service (PHS) research integrity activities on behalf of the Secretary of Health and Human Services with the exception of the regulatory research integrity activities of the Food and Drug Administration. 

Office for Human Research Protections (OHRP)

The Office for Human Research Protections (OHRP) provides leadership in the protection of the rights, welfare, and wellbeing of subjects involved in research conducted or supported by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). OHRP helps ensure this by providing clarification and guidance, developing educational programs and materials, maintaining regulatory oversight, and providing advice on ethical and regulatory issues in biomedical and social-behavioral research.

Public Responsibility in Medicine and Research (PRIM&R) advances the highest ethical standards in the conduct of biomedical, behavioral, and social science research through education, membership services, professional certification, public policy initiatives, and community building.
